Who books hotel, flights, train tickets, etc.?

We are happy to offer our assistance in making your travel bookings and for this reason, we will ask for your travel data timely. After confirming your dates, times, etc. , we will complete your transportation bookings.

In additional, we will arrange for your hotel accommodation here in Lindau once we have your travel dates.

The closest international airports are Zurich (ZRH) and Munich (MUC), and the closest domestic airport is Friedrichshafen (FDH). The transfer times from Zurich to Lindau are roughly 2 hours, from Munich 2.5 hours, and from Friedrichshafen just roughly 30 minutes. 

If you are traveling by train, please note that there is a new train station in Lindau called Lindau-Reutin. This train station is located on the mainland and will offer the best connections, especially if you are traveling from Munich or Zurich.

For those arriving by car, take Exit 2 off the autobahn A96 towards Lindau, Nonnenhorn, Wasserburg. Once you leave the autobahn, follow the B12 for 5.5 km. At the third traffic circle, continue along straight through  to the Wacker St., which then becomes the Schachener St. The driveway for the hotel is ca. 2 km along on the left side. Hotel Bad Schachen also offers parking.

Yes, our shuttle service can be arranged to pick you up and bring you to the hotel as well as bring you back to the airport/train station following the meeting.

Transportation for the different events will be organised by us. At peak hours, we offer transportation to those events with bus transfers to accommodate as many laureates as possible and to help us achieve our goals for green conferencing. In addition, there are shuttles available at the hotel and meeting venue, Inselhalle, for any additional transfers.

Here in Lindau, the Nobel Laureates stay in the Hotel Bad Schachen, family-owned for centuries, which is located directly on the beautiful shores of Lake Constance.

Breakfast will typically be eaten in the hotel except for special breakfast events. Lunches and dinners will be at the various events during the meeting. It is also possible for you to have a meal at the Inselhalle or the hotel at any time.

For your convenience, there will be a “Nobel Desk” at Hotel Bad Schachen as well as at the meeting venue, Inselhalle. During the opening hours, which will be posted, you will always be able to find a contact person to assist you.

Please note that the weather in Lindau is strongly influenced by both the proximity to Lake Constance as well as the Austrian and Swiss Alps to the south. 

The temperatures in the summer months can vary greatly and, therefore, it is advisable to be prepared: A summer jacket for cool evenings and light summer clothing for during the day. It is also possible to go swimming in the lake, so don’t forget your swimsuit.
