Compensation

Over the years, it has become the custom that the Nobel Laureates coming to the Lindau Meetings donate their time and commitment and the costs for their travel and stay are covered by the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings.

The costs for boarding and lodging in Lindau will be fully covered by the council and foundation for you and your accompanying person.

The travel expenses will either be paid by us directly at the time of the booking or if the laureate or his/her office book the trip and pay for it in advance, once here in Lindau, you will be reimbursed in cash a fixed sum communicated beforehand. 

Moreover, we will be happy to assist with your itineraries and book flights in business class for you and your partner. Kindly note that as a publicly co-funded non-profit organisation, we are required by state regulation to limit travel costs, based on competitive comparable offers. Thus, you may send your preferred offer/flights and we will compare it with the offer of our travel agent. We are, however, aware that complex travel itineraries, tight schedules and route preferences may require special connections.
