Dr Thomas Gruber to Pass on the Baton After the 2026 Anniversary Meeting
Following the 2026 anniversary meeting, Dr Thomas Gruber will step down from his role as Executive Director and Member of the Board and Council of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings at the end of July, as jointly agreed. He will remain associated with the Council as Senior Advisor until 31 December 2026 and will support the transition with his experience.
Countess Bettina Bernadotte, President of the Council, said:
“On behalf of the Council, I would like to thank Dr Gruber for his dedication and the very constructive working relationship. He joined Lindau in view of the upcoming 75th anniversary to design the 2026 anniversary meeting and to initiate and implement important new developments for the future of the Meetings.
During this time, he successfully conducted three meetings and, together with the team of the Executive Secretariat, initiated and visibly advanced a new dynamic in the further development of the Meetings, particularly in the areas of internationalisation, digitalisation of processes, new formats and partnerships. We wish him all the best for the future.”
Dr Thomas Gruber said:
“The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings are in an exciting phase between a strong tradition and further opening towards new formats and international perspectives. It has been a central concern of mine to actively shape this development and to set important impulses together with the team. The 2026 anniversary meeting will make this progress visible. Against this background, now is a good time to pass on the baton and turn to new challenges.”
