Mini Lecture: Cosmology

How has our picture of the universe developed in the history of cosmology?

Starting from the Big Bang Theory to the concept of the accelerating expansion of the universe, this Mini Lecture explores the evolutionary origin and development of the universe. Historical as well as up-to-date lecture snippets of the physicists George Smoot, Brian Schmidt and John Mather, all held at the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings, illustrate the concepts used to analyse the universe.
