71st Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting – Lindau Island

Opening day of the 71st Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting: The opening ceremony featured greetings from multiple top-class guests. The academic programme was then kicked off by the Lecture of the 2021 Nobel Laureate Sir David W.C. MacMillan and a Panel Discussion about „Trust in Science, Trust in Chemistry“.

This year the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting is taking place in Lindau for the 71st time. Except for the Covid break, every year since 1951, Nobel Laureates and young scientists have met in Lindau for a unique form of scientific debate and personal exchange.

The scientific programme on today’s opening day started with the Lecture of Sir David W.C. MacMillan: „The Path to Invention and Discovery in Catalysis“. It was the first lecture to take place on-site in Lindau in two years, and at the same time held by a Laureate, who is attending the meeting for the first time.
