Daily Recap – Friday, 29 August 2025

Truly packed sessions – in every sense.

In addition to the always-inspiring Lectures from the Laureates in Economic Sciences, there was a special highlight today: David Beasley delivered a moving talk on the motivation that led to the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to the World Food Programme.

Today also marked the final round of presentations by Young Scientists, spread across four dynamic Next Gen Science sessions. During the Science Walks and Open Exchanges, burning questions were asked from the Young Scientists – and answered in lively discussions.

And how do you end your last evening at the Inselhalle? Exactly: with a big celebration in true Bavarian tradition and with traditional attire from around the world making for a vibrant party atmosphere.

Quote of the Day

WTO was an unfair trade framework from the perspective of developing countries, but it might still be better than the law of the jungle.

Joseph E. Stiglitz, Laureate in Economic Sciences 2001
