Ada E. Yonath 1939–2026

The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings deeply mourn the passing of Ada Yonath at the age of 87.

After being awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry together with Thomas A. Steitz and Venki Ramakrishnan “for studies of the structure and function of the ribosome” in 2009, she became a regular and much-loved participant in the Lindau Meetings.

Council and Foundation Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings will honour her memory and extend their sympathies to her family.
