I am an Academic Partner – how are the proceedings? The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings interact closely with a global network of Academic Partners (see list here) to identify highly-talented young scientists and to nominate them for participation at Lake Constance. Partners include national academies of science, ministries, research institutions, top-ranking universities, foundations and international scientific organisations. Additionally, the Central Banks of over 50 countries are involved as Academic Partners with the Meetings in the Economic Sciences thanks to the efforts of the Bank for International Settlements. If you are an Academic Partner, you will receive a call for proposal which will invite to nominate candidates for the next meeting. This email will be sent out around 9 months before the meeting. The email provides your personal access code for our database by the help of which the nominations of young researchers can be done by you. As soon as you have nominated a candidate, an automatically generated email is sent to the nominee, asking him/her to fill in his/her personal profile according to our schedule. The Council´s scientific review panel will then evaluate the profiles and take the final decisions which will be announced to both Academic Partners and young researchers. Corresponding to the statements in the database, the Council will organise the Boarding & Lodging for the Young Researchers. Our newsletter will inform all Academic Partners several times a year about current developments. Furthermore, all German Academic Partners will be invited around 6 months before each meeting to meet with each other and with the organisers of the upcoming meeting. For all international partners, a similar event during the Lindau Meeting itself will be organised in order to inform about the development of the event, about questions related to the nomination process etc.
