Exhibition Sketches of Science:
Photo Sessions with Nobel Laureates
The exhibition "Sketches of Science: Photo Sessions with Nobel Laureates" is a display of 50 portraits of Nobel Laureates shot by German photographer Volker Steger.
Each of his meetings with the Laureates began with Steger laying a blank sheet of paper and a box of crayons in front of them, after which he challenged them to: "Draw your discovery!" Once completed, a portrait was taken of the Laureate holding the drawing.
The portraits and a selection of original drawings included in the exhibition are complemented by interviews and presentations of the Nobel Laureates and their discoveries.
Many of the photographs were taken in connection with the annual Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings. The exhibition has been produced by the Nobel Museum in collaboration with the Foundation Lindau Nobelprizewinners Meetings at Lake Constance and principal funding by Klaus Tschira Stiftung. Interviews have been conducted in cooperation with Nobel Media.
